We boast a variety of radiometric, thermal and near infrared aerial surveying services. Perfect for tracking animals and environmental analysis.
Mapping

GIS, orthomosaic, volumetric and geo-referenced imagery

Uaviation provides a variety of geo mapping and aerial surveying services including geo-referenced Orthomosaics and Digital Elevation Models. We offer an innovative service that captures high definition aerial images which can then be uploaded and processed through a web based interface.

Take a look at this video of and example of our mapping and modelling:

 What we offer:

We offer accurate geo-spatial mapping solutions generated from 2D aerial imagery. We can provide high resolution Digital Elevation Models (DEM), Digital Surface Models (DSM), Orthomosaic images and Point Cloud creation from fixed-wing or multi rotor UAV platforms.

  • Fast visualisation
  • Drawing break lines and reference points in a 3D environment
  • Perform volume analysis
  • Real-time calculation of elevation contour lines, slopes and slope directions

Applications

Some of the many applications for aerial data collection include:

  • High Accuracy Fluvial and Hydrological survey
  • Road and Rail infrastructure
  • Engineering Works
  • Mining and stockpile assessment
  • Any application requiring highly accurate ge-referenced imagery
  • Build a virtual model of your mine or quarry using an unmanned aerial system
  • Measure volumes and volume differences
  • Identify break lines and slopes in the virtual environment
  • Use UAV orthophotos as a base map of your mine
  • Access dirty, dangerous and unstable places in a safe way
Digital Modelling and Orthophoto
Using precise GPS enabled drones for aerial surveying is an efficient and cost effective tool when compared to traditional land-based survey or commissioning full sized aircraft.

Photogrammetry

Photogrammetry is the science of making measurements from photographs. The output of photogrammetry is typically a map, a drawing or a 3D model of some real-world object or land mass.

There is substantial data that can be extracted from the aerial imagery including:

  • DEM (digital elevation model)
  • DTM (digital terrain model)
  • DSM (digital surface models)
  • Volumetric analysis

Othomosaic

The term “Orthomosaic” is reserved for the practice of digitally stitching together a series of related photographs taken from known positions. Complex algorithms are used by a computer to deduce how the photographs relate. The result is a single very large “mosaic”  that can be viewed as a three-dimensional.

Orthomosaic photos are commonly used for

  • high definition mapping
  • volumetric analysis and planning
  • geosnatially accurate and corrected aerial images
  • resource planning
  • farming and vegetation indexation
  • 3D Building Models

Uses

Some common uses for aerial digital modelling and ortho-photography include the following:

  • Forestry management
  • Agriculture planning
  • Floodplain modelling
  • Cartography
  • Urban planning
  • Coastline management
  • Oil and gas exploration
  • Resources and mining
  • Archaeology
  • Cellular and electricity network planning
